Peer Review Process

The Journal of Geoinformatics and Digital Geography follows a fair, transparent, and structured double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published research.

Each manuscript is evaluated for its scientific contribution, research quality, methodological soundness, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. The editorial office checks that all required files and information have been provided and that the submission complies with the journal's guidelines.

The editorial team performs a preliminary assessment to determine whether the manuscript fits the journal's scope and meets the required standards of originality, quality, relevance, and publication ethics.

Suitable manuscripts are assigned to independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant research area. Reviewers are selected based on their academic background and research experience.

The journal follows a double-blind review process in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the evaluation process.

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:

• Clarity of Presentation
• Relevance to the Journal

Based on reviewer recommendations, the Editorial Board may decide:

• Accept – Suitable for publication.
• Minor Revision – Small revisions required.
• Major Revision – Significant revisions required before further review.
• Reject – Manuscript is not suitable for publication.

Authors should carefully address reviewer comments, revise the manuscript, and provide a detailed response explaining how each comment has been addressed. Revised manuscripts may undergo additional review if necessary.

After successful peer review and editorial approval, accepted manuscripts proceed through copyediting, proofreading, production, and final online publication.
