The Journal of Geoinformatics and Digital Geography is committed to maintaining academic integrity, responsible research, and ethical publishing practices. This Publication Ethics Policy establishes principles designed to promote responsible conduct throughout the submission, peer-review, and publication process.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted manuscripts are original and accurately represent their research.

• Ensure that the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
• Present research findings honestly without fabrication or falsification.
• Properly acknowledge the work and ideas of other researchers.
• Avoid plagiarism, duplicate publication, and inappropriate reuse of text or data.
• Ensure that all listed authors have made meaningful contributions.
• Disclose relevant funding sources and potential conflicts of interest.
• Obtain appropriate ethical approval where required.

Reviewers play an important role in maintaining the quality and integrity of published research. Reviewers should:

• Evaluate manuscripts objectively and fairly.
• Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and review materials.
• Provide clear, constructive, and respectful feedback.
• Identify potential plagiarism, data concerns, or ethical issues when noticed.
• Decline a review when there is a conflict of interest or insufficient expertise.
• Never use unpublished information for personal or professional benefit.

Editors are responsible for conducting a fair, independent, and professional editorial and peer-review process.

• Base editorial decisions on quality, originality, relevance, and academic contribution.
• Consider manuscripts without discrimination based on personal or institutional factors.
• Handle potential conflicts of interest carefully.
• Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
• Promote fairness, transparency, and academic integrity throughout the editorial process.

The journal does not accept plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, or other forms of research and publication misconduct.

Submitted manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism or other publication concerns where appropriate. If serious ethical issues are identified, the journal may request clarification, reject the manuscript, or take appropriate action after publication.

Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to disclose financial, professional, personal, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as a conflict of interest.

A conflict of interest does not necessarily prevent publication or participation in peer review. However, appropriate disclosure and safeguards should be applied to maintain transparency, fairness, and impartiality.

When a significant error is identified after publication, the journal may publish a correction or clarification to maintain the accuracy and reliability of the scholarly record.
